Hey table, man it’s been awhile since we’ve been at the table. Happy to see everyone again, virtually. March was a very trying and busy month for me, so I apologize for missing the mark on our discussions. You know I have been itching to get back to the table because we have lots to discuss.
You know a while ago I watched a motivational piece by Steve Harvey after Family feud had been taped. His main point was if you never jump you’ll never know what God has for you. In this same little message he spoke about gifts. He said everyone has a gift, which is true, but people tend to associate gift with talent such as singing, dancing, or playing a sport well. Well I would like to emphasize that a little more. We ALL have gifts and it’s up to us to figure out what our particular gift is. Steve Harvey said you probably can fry chicken better than anybody you know or can bake like Jesus himself was going to come and eat it however, I want to go a bit farther and say we all may have more than one gift. The bible said it best “Your gift will make room for you” but you have to operate in that gift for that to happen. So the question is what is your gift? Better yet, do you know what your gift is?
See you can’t operate if you don’t even know what it is. I believe one of my many gifts is writing and now I am finally operating in my gift. I trust what the Lord says, so I know soon and very soon my gift will make room for me. I saw a message from a fellow blogger who stated she needed to work on her writing, so that she didn’t have to go back to a soul/time-sucking corporate position. You know what that means? Her gift is writing and she had to start working that gift to make room for her, so that she didn’t go back to a soul/sucking corporate job. We should all operate in our gifts, but why don’t we? Is it fear that we will fail? Is it fear that you can’t survive? Is it fear we don’t know where to begin? FEAR comes from the devil.
Now you must use wisdom to know your gift and then don’t quit your job immediately because you have a gift, but eventually once you start you will gradually be able to operate more in your gift and if you truly trust and believe God it will work out for you. That’s a promise from God, so it has to be true. Don’t be afraid, but don’t be foolish. Let’ start operating in our gifts and use them to make room for us. Let me know what you think, but keep it respectful. See you at the next discussion.
