Hello my fellow discussers, wow has it been a moment. Well if you follow me on social media you probably saw a different version of my blog via video. However, you can’t take me away from my roots, which is traditional blogging. I’m so happy to see everyone back to the table (virtually). I know I have to get some of my people back to the table since it’s been awhile since we spoke.
Well let’s just get to it. Are you afraid of success? I mean to even ask that question I guess I would need to know what do you consider success? Let’s be clear everyone’s definition of success is different. What I view as successful for me will differ from what you consider successful. We can’t get it twisted though; success is still completing something and getting satisfaction in the fact that it is done. In the Merriam-Webster dictionary success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Hmm, kind of what I just said right? Well did you know that some people will actually run away from something because they know it will be a success? Why, you ask. Well some people don’t like the responsibility that follows.
You see if you succeed in something than that means you have the responsibility of taking the next step. If your business succeeds in the first year, you have the responsibility to make it happen again. If you succeed in graduating school you have the responsibility in either getting a job or going to the next level. There’s always responsibilities that come with success. Now I also know that some people aren’t ready for success. Some people make up all kind of excuses as to why they can’t do something. Even when they have all the tools they need to succeed or drive forward; they will still say they can’t do it because of some excuse or they let other things distract them from doing what they know they can do. This is what I call FEAR.
So what are you not succeeding on? Are you giving excuses or afraid to move forward because of your own doubt? You know fear come from the enemy and God didn’t give us that spirit. Will some things be tough to accomplish, absolutely, but should you not try just because it can be difficult. No! If you want to be successful you have to want it. You have to get rid of naysayers and push down that lump of doubt. I wanted to be an author, I had some support, but in the end I had to believe and trust in myself. Now I am currently having the book edited and my cover is complete. I wanted to start my own writing company (hence my hiatus from the table) and here I am in the starting phases of company I know will be successful. I’m not looking at other companies that have already been established or other people wanting to start theirs. i can only focus on my skills and my dream. Are you afraid of success? You shouldn’t be, but I want to hear from you. Let me know what’s stopping you from being that successful person you want to be. Remember keep it respectful. See you at the next discussion!
