Hello table, how are you? It’s great to see everyone at the table again (virtually). Omg Christmas has finally come and gone. Are you like me and still recovering? Well, I was chilling at the house because I needed a full week to recover from Santa, these kids and my family. It was great having everyone here to celebrate the holiday season. Did you enjoy yours? I want to hear all about the Christmas stories you have (hmm is that a movie?) Anyway, you know what’s next on the list…New Years. Well I love this time of the year too. You know why? It’s like when you’re in class for the first time and the teacher says you all have an “A” right now it’s up to you to maintain it. Now in hindsight of course we all have A’s because we just started, so all I have to do is turn in work, do homework and pass test to maintain. Seems simple enough! Well that’s how the New Year is! It’s like starting the year off with an A and you have 12 months to maintain it. Will you fail a few test and forget to turn in some homework? Of course, its called life, but you also get a chance to turn in extra credit to boost your grade thanks to the man upstairs.
Now before I go into keeping Jesus close let’s discuss what you plan on doing for the New Year. I don’t really care for the term resolution because those tend to be broken or not fulfilled, but I do like the term revelation, which means that you get a disclosure of something to do in your life and you have 12 months to do it. There is something from 2018 that you didn’t get to do, well guess what you get another year. Did you want to start that new business? Guess what? Time to put your thoughts into a plan and then put that plan into motion. Usually the revelation was given to you the year prior, but procrastination is the number one staller of dreams.
I know I have written a few blogs about procrastination and doing what you always wanted to do, but in case you didn’t read them here’s cliff notes. Read my prior blogs for 2018 lol. I’m sorry, but stop taking the easy way out and do something with your time that’s productive. Ok, enough of that seriously what is your New Year’s revelation? Is there something you always wanted to do and just never got around to doing it? Or maybe you want to travel more this year. Let’s start preparing and saving because this year is the year. We all have a part to play in life and just sitting around talking, dreaming or crying about isn’t going to make it happen. Pray about it and then be about it. What’s the scripture… oh yeah FAITH without WORK is DEAD.
Now what’s the plan? You know we want to know, so talk to us. Remember keep it respectful. See you at the next discussion.
