NFL Solidarity

Hello Roundtable,

So let’s discuss the NFL’s solidarity to either kneel during the national anthem or link arms. Before we actually discuss the matter let’s discuss the why. Last year when NFL player Colin Kapernick decided to sit and then later kneel during the laying of the national anthem people were outraged. He was talked about and criticized from a lot of people and some players of the NFL. Why? Because they(society) said he was disrespecting the flag and the song and what it stood for. Let’s be honest Kapernick kneeled for the social injustice that people of color are experiencing.  So why now does the NFL kneel? They have started to kneel at the US national anthem and raising of the flag before the game in support of Kaepernick’s protest against inequality and police brutality in America.

Then our president decided to say ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired.’ Really? Please stop trying to focus the protest on disrespecting the military and our country. Honestly, our veterans fought so that we could have the right to protest. Instead of focusing on the protest how about focusing on the reason behind the protest.  There are a lot of social injustices that black and brown people suffer. Now with this president we are starting to regress. Why would a leader help fuel division and dissension? Maybe because you’re not really a leader, open your eyes. I would love some feedback about this topic. Here’s video that might help some check into reality.
