Hello roundtable! Well I want to say I hope you enjoyed today. I hope you celebrated the man who had a dream that became reality. You know the majority of us did not have to work, so what did we do today? Well today is really celebrating a day of service. It’s really a day on, not a day off. You want to know why I say that? Well let’s think about it for a minute. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became prominent in the 60’s during the civil rights movement.. He didn’t choose to be the spokesman for rights but it fell upon him to carry it out. I’m pretty sure he was tired, he was discouraged and some days he wanted to give up but he knew he had a mission to complete and so he continued on. He had a dream and although he didn’t live to see it his dream became a reality.
Its been 55 years since that speech and now we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. every year in January. The question is how do you celebrate? Do you just take the day off or do you make it a point to learn something new you didn’t know? This day although a national observance is not just a day off, its a day on. It’s a day we make a commitment to follow our dreams and make sure they become reality. Let’s be real I talk about this all the time. Some people motivate themselves to follow their dreams while others need someone or something to help them make their dream reality. To one thing that you need to remember is that you should always follow your dream even when no one else can see it because it may one day become reality.
Did you hear what I said. Always follow your dreams even when no one else can see it because it may one day become reality. How can you ever expect someone to believe in you or your dream if you don’t believe in it or yourself? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed his dream with all his soul. He didn’t care that no one else saw it he believed everything that he said. Trust me when I say he probably had a lot of haters that threw shade but he pushed on. You see its not the obstacles in your path that stop you from reaching your destination but negativity you absorb along the way. Don’t be moved by what you see! Let me hear what you think, but keep it respectful. See you at the next discussion.
