Favorite Holiday

Hey fellow knightly discussers! What has been going on? I know some of you have left the table to pursue some personal things and that’s ok. There will always be a seat for you at the table. For my remaining discussers did you bring someone with you today? That’s ok if you didn’t, it’s a good thing we’re virtual, so they can come back anytime and catch up. Anyway let’s talk about celebrating! Man, I love a good holiday. I love Thanksgiving because for what other reason…to eat. Oh yeah I love my family too lol. However, my favorite time is Christmas. Man oh man do I love that holiday. I like to see the decorations and for some odd reason that’s when people are the nicest. Tis the season to be jolly and giving. Why is it that people seem to save all their nice cards for December? I don’t know, but that’s what people do.

I love the Christmas movies and I love the imagination behind it. Jesus is the reason for the season, this is very true. However, you can still let your child have an imagination too. I know some people don’t like to tell their kids about Santa and that’s very fair, but I do. Please don’t judge, my parents did the whole Santa Claus thing with us and it trickled down. My parents never felt threaten about Santa Claus presence in our home. He never stole their thunder or the fact that they were my parents and provided for us. It was the imagination they wanted to let us have. Children should be children and have that magical world they can revert back to from time to time. Its fun being a child and they should experience that. Children shouldn’t have to worry about adult things. Food, shelter, clothing and bills are all adult things. Now before I get any boos at the table let’s examine what a child is. Your child is no longer a child who believes in Santa Claus at 12 and older. This is the age where you really know the values of a dollar. Should you still have to worry about adult things, no, but about 16 you need to have a real good knowledge of the value of a dollar. Did I just digress?

Which goes back to my original statement I love Christmas. I love to spend time with my family for Christmas as well. My mom decorates her house every year and hopefully this year I can definitely go all out too. I love making things with the kids and even though we can do it any time it’s something about making Christmas ornaments or cookies that really feels like bonding time. Now I get it, someone is shaking their heads at that, but it’s the truth. So Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is a coming, but move over because in 46 days I will be screaming MERRY CHRISTMAS. What’s your favorite holiday and why.

Let me hear from you and remember keep it respectful. See you at the next discussion!

My favorite holiday of the year.
