Heartache to the Soul

Hello Table,

Ok, I know everyone has heard about the recent tragedy this week of a 5 year old boy drowning while in the care of his day summer camp. First and foremost I would like to offer condolences to the family. Our hearts go out to you and your family are truly in my family’s prayers.

Now as for the summer camp, I am appalled that they have been in business since 1987 and operating without a license (allegedly). I am also appalled of the fact you went on this field trip with no permission or knowledge of the families (allegedly). I continue to say allegedly because I am not in Atlanta, Georgia nor have I been to the daycare center and interviewed anyone there, so I’m only talking based on reports received from Roland Martin(NewsOne)( he fact checks everything). I just have a few questions: 1. What were you doing that you didn’t notice a child missing? 2. Who allowed a daycare to stay open this long without a license? 3. Why are the state officials who should have inspected the daycare not being sued? This is a very sad story and I have 8 children, 4 from my husband and I still would be damn near crazy if I was told any of my children had passed especially in the care of someone else.  We’ll keep you posted if anything else develops from this story like the lawsuit.
